HISTORY
Once owned by King Henry VIII, Llanthony Secunda Manor claims to be one of the most haunted locations in the whole of the United Kingdom.
The building we see today has been altered and added to but it was originally built in the 12th century, and was used as a grange farm for Llanthony Secunda Priory, which was in Gloucestershire. It is believed to have been owned by Henry VIII after the dissolution of the monasteries but there is no evidence he stayed here. Around 1600 there was a major rebuilding, which is mostly what we see today
In the 20th century, the building was restored and is now a holiday home, where some tourists know of its ghostly reputation, and others are seemingly unaware of the spooky stay they’re about to encounter.
PARANORMAL ACTIVITY
There have been many reports of paranormal activity all throughout the building’s history, but its latest restorations have seen the property fall victim to a number of paranormal happenings. Guests have reported belongings being mysteriously moved from one end of the room to the other, and the sounds of monks chanting can be heard throughout the property. Apparitions and shadows have also been seen.

This is dormitory style accommodation so you may need to share if room cannot be filled. Please let us know your preferred room upon booking. If we don't hear from you , we will automatically book you into a room.

The Medieval Manor is located on the southern tip of the Wye-Valley, which is an area designated for its outstanding natural beauty. We are located 10 minutes from the M4, and 15 minutes from the M5 motorways. The manor is the perfect location for both outdoor sports and tourism.
Located only 20 minutes from Bristol, 30 minutes from Cardiff, and 35 minutes from the ancient Roman city of Bath, you couldn’t be better located for touring both England and Wales.
